IMC New Zealand welcomes new members and enquiries from anyone interested in the management consulting profession. Please contact us and we can arrange for you to meet existing members to discuss the benefits of the Institute and assist you with the application process. It is pretty straightforward.
Experienced management consultants will benefit most from joining as Associate or (full) Members. The difference is level of experience. A minimum of 3 years experience as a management consultant (which can include time spent in internal consulting roles) is required to join as a Member. If you apply to be a member it is likely that you will also be asked to apply for assessment as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) at the same time. It is possible, however, to be accepted as a member but not as a CMC if some criteria are not met.
Joining as an Associate or Member requires:
- Telling us about yourself (yes there is a form but most questions can be answered by attaching your CV);
- Providing some details of consulting assignments you have undertaken;
- Providing certified copies of qualifications and certifications;
- Providing names and contact details of referees;
- Paying an application fee and an annual membership fee;
- Someone to propose you (we can help with this if necessary).
The easiest way to join the Institute is as an Individual or Corporate Affiliate. All you need to do is provide your name and contact details and pay a small fee.
More detailed information on the different types of membership is provided below.
