The IMCNZ is the professional institute of Management Consultants in New Zealand and a member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), the governing body of the profession with member Institutes in 43 countries and over 25,000 members worldwide.

The IMCNZ offers membership options ranging from Full membership with entitlement to the internationally recognised CMC certification (Certified Management Consultant) to Friend which enables those with an interest in management consulting to take part in Institute activities.

The IMCNZ also operates an Accredited Consulting Practice (ACP) program. Through this program a management consulting organisation which has undergone a stringent auditing process to ascertain that its standards, training and ethics meet the exceptionally high standards set by the IMCNZ is able to attain the prestige organisational status of ACP. Individual management consulting staff of the ACP are able to utilise a fast tracked process to obtain CMC status and IMCNZ membership.
